How Can We Help You ?

The Lorraine Hansberry Literary Trust (LHLT) oversees and licenses the works of Lorraine Hansberry and coordinates national and international projects that involve Hansberry’s works in print, audio, film, and on television and stage. In addition, LHLT also works with several agencies to manage the use of both published and unpublished materials.

Lorraine Hansberry’s collected works include published plays, books, and acting editions of her plays; articles and essays; audio and video materials, including cast recordings, film and television productions, speeches, and radio and television interviews; as well as unpublished materials in the Lorraine Hansberry Papers housed at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. The unpublished materials include playscripts, telescripts, screenplays, short stories, poems, and nonfiction writing including essays, lectures, speeches, and articles; photographs and artwork by and of Hansberry; and personal materials including diaries, journals, letters, autobiographical notes, and other ephemera. Detailed information about obtaining licensing and permissions, media rights, or stage rights for the literary works and published and unpublished papers of Lorraine Hansberry can be found on the Licensing page. If you have questions, comments, or contributions for LHLT.org, please go to our Contact page.
