Williamstown Theater Festival marks 60th anniversary of Broadway opening of A Raisin in the Sun

Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced a special event to mark the 60th anniversary of the Broadway opening of A Raisin in the Sun.

A special public conversation Lorraine Hansberry: A Living Legacy/New Artists and New Visions will feature Hansberry Literary Executor, Joi Gresham; Hansberry biographer Soyica Colbert, author of Lorraine Hansberry: ARTIST/ACTIVIST (forthcoming, Yale University Press); and playwrights Talvin Wilks and Tracey Scott Wilson.

This free event will take place on Wednesday, July 10th at 10am at the Clark Auditorium (225 South Street). Reservations are required.

Williamstown Theater Festival will also present A Raisin in the Sun, directed by Obie Award winner Robert O’Hara, with Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner S. Epatha Merkerson (Lena) and Francois Battiste (Walter Lee) from June 25 through July 13, 2019. Tickets can be found here. There will be a special talkback following the Tuesday July 9 evening show with WTF company members, artistic staff, and special guests.
